There are many different types of riveting machines available in the market, but we will focus on the riveting machine for riveting rivets, which is commonly used in various industries. These machines can be further classified into two types based on their operation principle - ordinary pendulum riveting machines and high-grade radial riveting machines. Before purchasing a riveting machine, it is important to determine which type of machine best suits your needs. The following points can be considered to help you make an informed decision.
I. Selection of pendulum riveting machine and radial riveting machine
If the shape of the riveting is complex and difficult to locate, it is recommended to choose a radial riveting machine;
The length-to-diameter ratio of the rivet. If the length-to-diameter ratio of the rivet exceeds 8, choose a pendulum riveting machine. The long rivets riveted by the pendulum machine are not easy to bend;
The quality requirements of riveted parts are high, and the surface finish of riveting is high. It is recommended that you buy a radial riveting machine, because the surface finish after radial processing is higher than that of pendulum riveting;
If your riveting product has a good positioning reference, or you can better position it by making simple riveting tooling, it is recommended that you purchase a pendulum riveting machine;
If you buy a riveting machine for riveting plastic parts, ceramic parts, etc., you need to buy a radial riveting machine;
For parts with electroplating, please use a radial riveting machine, which can effectively protect the coating of the workpiece;
If your product has no special requirements, then we recommend that you buy a pendulum riveting machine, because the price of the pendulum riveting machine is relatively low, and the use of a radial riveting machine increases the cost;
For the high safety requirements of the riveting machine, please choose the radial riveting machine. The riveting head of the pendulum riveting machine rotates, causing the nearby gloves, rags, etc. to be entangled; the moment the riveting head touches the rivet, there is an outward force, and the tooling of the riveting product must be fixed; the riveting head of the radial riveting machine shakes and does not rotate, which is safe.
Choose a pneumatic or hydraulic riveting machine according to the conditions of the factory. The hydraulic riveting machine has stable riveting pressure, is easy to use, and has a firm structure; the cost of the pneumatic riveting machine is low, and the user who needs it can provide the air source. A small air compressor will suffice.
Although the pneumatic riveting machine does not require a highly stable air source, the instability of the air source will have a certain impact on the riveting machine. Therefore, many manufacturers also consider using hydraulic riveting machines instead of pneumatic riveting machines to improve stability and riveting effect.
II. Structural selection of riveting machine
The structural form of the riveting machine is roughly divided into three types: desktop, vertical and horizontal. Customers can choose according to their own needs. Generally, there are more vertical riveting machines, because the vertical riveting machine can be used directly in the workshop after purchase, while the desktop riveting machine needs to provide a work table, and the horizontal riveting machine generally depends on the parts.
